Manke Memorial provides numerous pre-arrangement options to the community of Clifton, NJ. This respected funeral home is well-known for having years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. Funeral pre planning is conducted by many people who desire the peace of mind in knowing that their affairs are in order. Pre planning also permits an individual to dictate every detail of his or her final arrangements. Making one’s preferences clear will prevent any questions, disagreements or arguments from arising among surviving family members over how to celebrate the person’s life and deal with their physical remains. One’s family will not be left to wonder if they made the right choices in paying tribute or if they spent the right amount on the service or ceremony. Seeing the individuality and uniqueness of the deceased reflected in his or her funeral service will be a source of comfort to the bereaved. Please investigate this empowering process further by visiting http://www.mankememorial.com/what-we-do/designing-your-funeral

Many who make pre-need funeral arrangements consider this as an extension of will and estate planning. By paying for one’s funeral in advance of need, his or her assets will not be affected by their passing, allowing more money from their savings and life insurance policies to go to their intended beneficiaries. Paying for one’s own end-of-life products, services and facilities prevents these expenses from becoming the financial responsibility of the loved ones he or she leaves behind. Family members will be highly appreciative of this final gift of love that reduces the burdens placed on them. Also, advance payment of funeral costs secures a price guarantee on the things that are paid for, so the purchaser will be unaffected by the price increases that result from inflation. In addition, an irrevocable trust fund for funeral related purchases is non-countable for those applying for Medicaid benefits.

Manke Memorial offers quality and complimentary pre-arrangement counsel. They will assist with the selection of services and merchandise and provide information and sound advice in matters related to final disposition. They assist individuals and families in planning chapel ceremonies, graveside services and cremations. They will also educate those who come to them for assistance about the various pre-payment options. Manke Memorial is the epitome of service. Racist tropes in Ramadan TV satires anger black Arabs

Jun 24, 2018

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — In an attempt to capitalize on what's become a ratings bonanza for Arabic satellite channels during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, two comedies struck the wrong chord with audiences when their lead actors appeared in blackface. Criticism was swift on social media, but failed to trigger a deeper discussion on racism in the Middle East. The shows — one produced in Egypt and the other in Kuwait — also poked fun at Sudanese culture, making a mockery of the Sudanese Arabic dialect and portraying darker skinned people from Sudan as either poor or lazy....

Israelis, Palestinians await William's inaugural royal visit

Jun 24, 2018

JERUSALEM — Prince William is set to arrive in Israel and the Palestinian territories this week for the first official visit of a member of the British royal family, ending the monarchy's decades-long mostly hands-off approach to one of the world's most sensitive regions. Though the trip is being billed as non-political, and places a special emphasis on technology and joint Israeli-Arab projects, the Duke of Cambridge will also be meeting with the Israeli and Palestinian leaders and visiting landmark Jerusalem sites at the heart of the century-old conflict. The prince kicks off his Middle East visit Sunday in Jordan...

Ex-soccer star says Iran officials barred him from program

Jun 24, 2018

TEHRAN, Iran — The former captain of Spain's national soccer team, Carles Puyol, is claiming that Iranian TV officials barred him from appearing as a World Cup commentator because of his long hair. Iranian officials have denied the claim. The Saturday report by Jam-e Jam newspaper's TV affiliate quotes government TV official Morteza Mirbagheri as saying the issue was about money not hair: "There is no need for a foreign figure to receive several hundred million (Iranian rials) for a few minutes on a sports program." Puyol was invited to appear on a special World Cup 20118 sport program Wednesday...

Jerusalem backlash casts shadow over Eurovision contest

Jun 24, 2018

JERUSALEM — When the United States recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital, Israelis hoped other countries would follow suit. Instead, the move has created a backlash. The latest setback threatens the contested city's hopes of hosting the 2019 Eurovision song contest — an affair that has become something of a national obsession. The Jerusalem recognition, warmly welcomed by Israel, appears to have triggered a series of unexpected diplomatic fiascos. Earlier this month, Argentina pulled out of a highly anticipated exhibition soccer match with Israel after the government moved the game to Jerusalem. Britain's Prince William, set to visit next week, has...

Turkey charges father of NBA's Kanter as terror group member

Jun 24, 2018

ISTANBUL — A Turkish court has accepted an indictment charging the father of NBA player Enes Kanter with "membership in a terror group," the country's official news agency reported Monday. The indictment followed an investigation of Mehmet Kanter, and prosecutors planned to seek his conviction and a prison term of five to 10 years at trial, Anadolu Agency said. It's unclear when the trial in western Tekirdag province would begin. Enes Kanter, who plays for the New York Knicks, is a follower of a U.S.-based Turkish cleric who the government accuses of masterminding a failed military coup in 2016. Cleric...
