Breastfeeding Pods Support Nursing Mothers at Work
Mar 4, 2020
LOS ANGELES, March 5, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- BrighterBooth, a leading manufacturer of soundproof office phone booths and meeting pods, is excited to announce the Breastfeeding Pod, an all-inclusive, freestanding lactation room that gives nursing mothers a private and comfortable space to breastfeed or pump at work or in public spaces.
The Breastfeeding Pod contains amenities that breastfeeding moms need like dimmable lights, ventilation system, comfortable seating and footrest, power outlets, USB ports, table, waste bin, and extra space for baby gear. BrighterBooth also offers custom additions like a mounted television and other specifications your organization may need.
"Our goal was to create a high quality, affordable and compliant solution to make it easier for organizations to support nursing employees and clients," said Patrick O'Dell, Director of Sales, BrighterBooth. "Breastfeeding employees shouldn't have to ask for appropriate accommodations, so we designed the Breastfeeding Pod to help companies be proactive in supporting nursing mothers without breaking the bank."
Breastfeeding and pumping accommodations are lacking in the workplace and in public spaces, which makes the experience of a new mother making their way through the world frustrating. Every mother has the most important job in the world, and all moms have the right to breastfeed and deserve a dedicated space to pump wherever they go.
Adding a Breastfeeding Pod to your workplace not only supports nursing mothers, it also increases productivity, strengthens company culture, reduces employee turnover, attracts top talent, and supports a diverse workforce.
Providing lactation accommodations isn't just good for business, it's also the law. The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires employers to provide break time and a private space for breastfeeding and pumping employees. A variety of other federal, state, and municipal laws require additional accommodations for nursing moms. California, for example, leads the way in breastfeeding laws.
