Academically, Dr. Sartorio graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in May of 1985. He completed a General Practice Residency at the Dayton VA Medical Center on June 30th of 1986. The residency program provided advanced training in all disciplines of dentistry as well as rotations through Physical Medicine, General Surgery, Anesthesia and Ear, Nose & Throat Surgery, and Clinics.
Furthering his education, Dr. Sartorio has completed over 200 hours of continuing education at the prestigious Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education and the Dawson Center for the Advancement of Dentistry. He has also completed an additional 400+ hours of continuing education across all disciplines of dentistry.
From July 1986 until August 1987, he worked as an associate in private practice and as a part-time staff member at a rural dental/medical clinic. From August of 1987 to the present, he has been in private practice in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh.
Achieving status as a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), Dr. Sartorio is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
On a more personal note, Dr. Sartorio resides in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania with his wife, Jean, and three children, Christie, Giovanna, and Anthony. He is a member of St. Bernard Parish.
